PETERBOROUGH — A snow day kept ConVal High School students at home Wednesday when thousands of students across the country held Enough is Enough gun control walkouts at their schools.

The walkout started like the others with a 17 minute observance for the 17 people killed by a shooter at a high school in Parkland, Florida, on Valentine’s Day.

ConVal student, however took the walkout further by then leaving campus and walking 30 minutes to downtown Peterborough where they gave speeches and then gathered in the town library to write letters to legislatures asking for stricter guns laws.

Anna McGuiness, 17, of Hancock said in her speech students are scared and stricter gun control doesn’t have to infringe on Second Amendment rights.

Daisy Young, 17, of Peterborough asks,” How many children have to die? … Before we realize it’s the bullet that’s doing the harm.”
