RINDGE — Police said Tuesday bomb threat at Walmart was likely just a hoax.

On Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at about 7:17 p.m. Rindge police and fire departments responded to a reported bomb threat at Walmart. The building had been evacuated prior to their arrival.

Police and Fire members searched the building, focusing their attention on a men’s bathroom near the back of the building, where the threat was specified. Nothing was found. Police reviewed surveillance video and concluded that there was no threat to the public. Walmart Assistant Manager Robert Murray decided to resume normal business operations approximately an hour and ten minutes after the call was received.

Police are investigating the initial report as a probable hoax. Anyone who may have information is encouraged to call Rindge Police Detective Rachel Malynowski at (603) 899-5009.
