Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with an introduction by Mark Holding at 6:15 p.m. The film begins at 6:30 p.m.  A Wrinkle in Time is a science fantasy based on the 1962 novel of the same name by Madeleine L’Engle.

The book won the Newbery Medal, Sequoyah Book Award, and Lewis Carroll Shelf Award, and was runner-up for the Hans Christian Andersen Award.

It is the first book in L’Engle’s Time Quintet, which follows the Murry and O’Keefe families. Meg Murry and her little brother, Charles Wallace, have been without their scientist father, Mr. Murry, for five years, ever since he discovered a new planet and used the concept known as a tesseract to travel there. Joined by Meg’s classmate Calvin O’Keefe and guided by the three mysterious astral travelers known as Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who and Mrs. Which, the children brave a dangerous journey to a planet that possesses all of the evil in the universe.

This film is rated PG and has a run time of 2 hours. There is no fee to be a member of the PCT Movie Club, although you do need to purchase a movie ticket the night of the discussion.
