PETERBOROUGH — The Monadnock Region was a sea of plaid on Friday, a sign of support for local businesses that compete with big box stores on Plaid Friday.

Plaid Friday was the brain-child of a gallery owner on the West Coast fed up with with the Black Friday hype. Monadnock Buy Local quickly got on board and its has spread throughout the region.

A few years later, Toadstool Bookshop owner Willard Williams started his own shop local movement to answer to Cyber Monday.

If you want to learn more stop by a Toadstool Bookshop in Peterborough, Keene or Milford today, get a cup of hot mulled cider and learn more. To find other participating businesses visit Monadnock Buy Local’s website.
