KEENE — Police are searching for a man who robbed a Keene bank Monday afternoon.

Police said Tuesday morning that a man entered the Savings Bank of Walpole at 817 Court Street in Keene at 3:10 p.m. on Monday.

He reportedly handed the teller a note demanding money and claiming he was armed. The teller handed over some cash. The amount is not being released at this time, police said in the news release.

“The subject then fled the bank on foot, no accomplice or vehicle was observed. No one was physically harmed during this incident; that being said, it is recognized how emotionally traumatizing it is for a teller or store clerk to be the victim of this type of crime,” police said.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 6’0” in height and having a chin strap type beard.

Police also released surveillance photographs of the man asking for the public’s help in identifying him.
