The town of Sharon is holding its annual tree lighting Dec. 3.


ALSTEAD — The Alstead Christmas Tree Lighting is planned for Friday, December 8 at 6:30 p.m. HOSTED by COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS . Join us for our annual community event with Santa, horse drawn wagon rides, the Drewsville ELF, Christmas Carols and food. (hot dogs, hot coffee, hot chocolate, and cookies) fun for all ages. (All refreshment donations will go to the Alstead Friendly Meal program)

ANTRIM — Antrim’s 8th Annual Festival of Trees begins Saturday Nov. 25  with the Community Tree Lighting and Visit from Santa the library at 4 p.m. The festival runs through Jan. 2 and include an open house Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the festival gala on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and a Solstice Soiree on Wednesday, Dec. 20, from 6 to 8 p.m.

DUBLIN — The Dublin Christmas Tree lighting will be on Friday, December 1 at 6 p.m. in the Yankee Publishing parking lot on Main Street. There will be hot chocolate and other treats. It is sponsored by the Dublin Rec Committee.

FRANCESTOWN — The Francestown Improvement and Historical Society Christmas Tree Lighting is planned for Sunday, Dec. 3, at 4 p.m.

GREENFIELD — Greenfield’s tree lighting is planned for Friday, Dec. 8, at 6 p.m. Stories with Santa & and More! Join the library staff and Greenfield community as the Friends of the Library light the Town Christmas tree! Enjoy refreshments, pick ornaments from the wishing tree, listen to Santa read a story, sing carols and do crafts! All ages welcome!

GREENVILLE –The lighting of the Greenville Christmas Tree is planned for Saturday, Dec. 9, at 5 p.m. Sing Christmas Carols, get your picture taken with Santa and enjoy refreshments inside the Chamberlin Library.

HARRISVILLE — ANNUAL HOLIDAY TREE LIGHTING, Sunday, November 26 at 5:30 p.m. in Memorial Park. Cookies, caroling and hot chocolate!!!!

JAFFREY —  The town’s annual Christmas tree lighting is planned for Friday, Dec. 1, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the town common gazebo. The magical evening will kick off the holiday season with free refreshments, holiday music, and a visit with Santa.

KEENE — The Kiwanis Club of Keene’s 5th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting is planned to begin at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24 In Central Square with the Keene High Brass Band, the Dublin Children’s Choir will sing several songs, the Grand Monadnock Youth Chorus will also sing several songs. Then they will join together and lead an “All kids sing” period. Then a local member of MoCo Arts will read a Holiday story. There will be hot chocolate and cookies available for a donation from the students of the St. Joseph Regional School Kiwanis Builders Club and the students of the Surry Village Charter School. There will be bells available at the Kiwanis tent. Once the story is finished, we will have everyone ring their bells and hope that Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive on the Keene Fire Truck and circle the Square twice while he and Mrs. Claus wave to the children. They will then enter the Square and go to the Bandstand. Santa and Mrs. Claus will lead us all in a countdown to light the tree and then will go to their tent to meet with children and listen to their wishes for this Holiday Season.

PETERBOROUGH — The annual tree lighting for Peterborough will be held on Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. in Putnam Park. The event begins at 4:30 p.m. with homemade cookies and cocoa in Bass Hall at the Monadnock Center. Caroling by the Girl Scouts and a visit from Santa, who will give candy canes to all the good boys and girls. After enjoying seasonal treats, visitors can follow the path of luminaria along Grove Street to Putnam Park where the town Christmas tree will be lit at 6 p.m.

RINDGE — The Recreation Department’s annual Christmas tree lighting is planned for Friday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m.  on the town common. Night includes singing, fireworks, Santa Claus and the naming of the Rindge citizen and young citizen of the year. The following day, Dec. 2, the Annual Breakfast with Santa is planned to take place at Rindge Memorial School from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

SHARON — Christmas Tree Lighting in Bass Park, followed by gathering at the Meeting House Sunday, Dec. 3 from 5 to 7 p.m.

SWANZEY — A Very Swanzey Christmas is planned for Saturday, December 2 at 5 p.m. A Very Swanzey Christmas features live music, Christmas carols, a reading of “Twas the Night before Christmas” by Selectmen Ken Colby and live music.. Later in the evening, Swanzey Police and Fire Departments escort Santa, Mrs. Claus, and elves in a parade to join the crowd in lighting the Christmas tree at Whitcomb Hall.

WESTMORELAND — The 14th annual Christmas Tree Lighting on the Common is planned to take place Sunday, Dec. 3, at 6 p.m. Children’s Choir and Luminaries. Followed by Hot Chocolate and Cookies in the Town Hall.
