PETERBOROUGH — Ron Crowe of Peterborough was the big winner in Saturday’s 15th annual Luck Duck Race, sponsored by the Peterborough Lions Club.

The race began with 2,000 yellow rubber duckies dumped into the Nubanusit River from a Highway Department loader operated by Meas Rouen. High water helped the ducks made it quickly to the Contoocook River finish line, as opposed to last year when barely adequate water levels prolonged the race.

Gift certificates were won by: Jean McGrath, scenic flight from Silver Ranch Airpark; Connie Moriarty, two lift tickets to Crotched Mountain Ski & Ride.

Each of the following were awarded $25 gift certificates to Hubert’s: Deb Caplan, Don Schrock, Bonnie Bowman, Jason Clark, Vicky Turner and Dave Dewitt.

Lori Austin won a shampoo, cut and style from Manhattan East, while Donovan Hog and Bill Reinhardt each won a $15 Peterborough Pizza Barn gift certificate.

Gift certificates for $50 were awarded to: Russell Picard, Hamlin Auto; George Sterling, Monadnock Oil & Vinegar, and Scott MacKenzie, Piggy’s Fine Repurposed Goods.

Gift certificates for $25 were awarded to Richard Cameron, Ava Marie Handmade Chocolates; Richard Lajoie, Cooper’s Hill Public House; Lauren & Bill Martin, Harlow’s, and Phil & Ruthie Gammons, Visa card from TD Bank.
