PETERBOROUGH — In just 2 weeks, the Peterborough Players will open their star-filled 2017-18 Arts on Screen Season! The season includes 11 operas presented by the Metropolitan Opera, 10 terrific plays from London’s National Theatre Live and 3 ballets from the Bolshoi Ballet on Screen. 

Things kick-off with a presentation of the Metropolitan Opera’s production of NORMA on October 7 at 1pm. NORMA stars Radvanovsky as the Druid priestess and Joyce DiDonato as her archrival, Adalgisa—a casting coup for bel canto fans. Carlo Rizzi conducts. Sir David McVicar’s evocative production sets the action deep in a Druid forest where nature and ancient ritual rule. This is followed a week later with presentation of the Julie Taymor imagined Die Zauberflöte (THE MAGIC FLUTE) on October 14.

The productions from London’s National Theatre include is a special presentation NO MAN’S LAND starring IAN MCKELLEN and PATRICK STEWART on October 21, the now BROADWAY BOUND production of ANGELS IN AMERICA (Parts 1 & 2), Steven Sondheim’s FOLLIES, ROSENCRANTZ & GUILDENSTERN ARE DEAD starring DANIEL RADCLIFFE, JUDE LAW in OBSESSION, and much more!

And what season would be complete without performances from the renowned BOLSHOI BALLET. The first of 3 productions is LE CORSAIRE on October 22.
