RINDGE — About 100 people gathered in the Hilltop House at Cathedral of the Pines Sunday afternoon for a fireside chat with four World War II veterans.

The veterans, who were 18 and 19-years old when they served, told harrowing stories of pilot missions, P.O.W. camps, and submarine battles as well as romantic stories.
