KEENE — Keene arrested a Lamson Street man yesterday for an alleged stabbing.
Randall J. Reed, 40, of Lamson Street, Keene, is charged with felony level first degree assault.
Keene police responded to 36 Marlboro Street on Thursday around 1:15 a.m. for a report of a disturbance and subsequently a report of a stabbing. When officers arrived they identified the victim as 26-year-old Jermaine T. McDay, who had numerous stab wounds to his hand, arm, and chest. Also at the scene was the accused, Reed, who was injured as a result of force being used against him during this melee and by others present to ensure his presence for the police, Keene police said in a press release Friday.
Both McDay and Reed were taken by Keene Fire personnel to the hospital for treatment.
The investigation continued with collecting evidence at the scene and interviewing of witnesses; this information was brought before the Court and an arrest warrant for Reed was issued charging him with the felony offense of First Degree Assault. The charge alleges Reed knowingly cause bodily injury, to wit stab wounds to another, to wit Jermaine McDay, by means of a deadly weapon, a knife in the manner in which it was used, by stabbing him numerous times
During the later afternoon on Thursday, Reed was released from Cheshire Hospital, he was arrested via the issued warrant; in lieu of bail Reed was placed at the Cheshire County Jail and is scheduled to be arraigned before the Cheshire Superior Court Friday afternoon.
